Razer Nari Ultimate Not Charging: How to Fix

For most rechargeable headsets, improper handling often leads to problems, typically related to charging.

In some cases, you need not necessarily mishandle the device, it can just stop charging because it has been used for a long period. The issue gets even worse when it’s a model with a non-removable battery – you can’t just opt for another power source.

In this article, we will be discussing power issues relating to the Razer Nari Ultimate, why yours is not charging, and how to fix it.

Razer Nari Ultimate Not Charging: How to Fix

Several reasons might cause your Razer Nari Ultimate headset not to charge, it all depends on the circumstances in which you’re facing the power issue – from mishandling, or factory error beyond your control.

  • Battery Has Exceeded Lifetime Charge Cycles

The charge cycle of the Nari Ultimate is about 500 cycles, as such, the battery becomes less likely to charge as we approach the cycle’s threshold. This case often happens in headsets that you’ve been using for a long period; best case scenario, if it’s able to hold some charge, it doesn’t last for too long.

  • Faulty Headset Charging Port

This is a situation when mishandling has caused the charging port to become deformed such that it’s no longer compatible with chargers. In this case, your headset is as good as dead, unless you’re able to perform a charging port replacement – which isn’t an easy task for a portable electronic like the Nari Ultimate headset.

  • Faulty Power Source

Sometimes, the issue is a lot far from the headset itself. You want to check around to make sure that the socket that you have your charger plugged in is working properly. In cases where it’s not, you shouldn’t expect your headset to charge as well.

This issue is often common with new Nari Ultimate owners who are either just plugging it in for the first time, or who are trying to have it charged in a socket that they haven’t tested before.

  • Faulty Charging Cable and/or Charger

This is a no brainier, a faulty cable or charger will prevent your headset from receiving charge. In most cases, you’ll find that your charging light indicator will be displaying red (which means charging) for an unusually longer period.

At other times you make even get to the stage of seeing green (which means fully charged) but the headset’s battery won’t be able to hold the charge as the charger wasn’t working properly in the first place. This must be corrected as soon as possible because it can easily cause to battery to develop a fault.

Razer Nari Ultimate Not Charging: How to Fix

In truth, the Razer Nari Ultimate is a well-built headset, as such, there’s not a lot you can do if it stops charging. Usually, the only way around is to be a DIY expert that’s willing to take apart their device and either do a charging port replacement or a battery replacement. Nevertheless, here are some troubleshooting steps you could take before opening up the headset.

  • Ensure that Your Power Source is Active

To confirm if your power source is active, simply plug in another device with a similar charger to what you’re using for your headset – if it charges, then you can proceed to plug your headset, expecting it to charge as well.

While that’s the case, you don’t want to pay too much mind to sockets with power indicator lights as some sockets can go defective even though their indicator lights are on.

  • Ensure that Your Charger and Cable are in Working Condition

You’ll want to use the same charger on the same socket to plug in another device and see if that device charges. If it does, that means you can proceed to explore other possibilities to correct your headset’s charging issue. If it doesn’t charge, you’ll need to get another working charger and use that for your device.

  • Check the Headset’s Status on the Razer Audio App

On a few occasions, we’ve seen that the headset might be charging, but the indicator light wouldn’t show it. In a case like this, you’ll be able to confirm the charging status within the Razer Audio app or Razer Synapse. If you find that it’s charging, then your issue is an error with the indicator lights.

  • Contact Customer Support

The Nari Ultimate comes with a 2-year warranty, as such, customer support is obligated to respond to your queries during this period, provided you haven’t violated the terms and conditions guiding the warranty. At the same time, you can decide to make a warranty claim by going through the process on their website. If your claim is approved, you’ll get a headset replacement.

The last result should always be to take apart the device yourself. This is because, you can’t exactly get an ideal battery replacement, and a manufacturer Micro USB charging port may not be available. More so, taking apart the device voids your warranty; you might as well try getting a replacement first before considering this as an option.
